Self-care is so important for you. I truly believe if a mom is well taken care of, her kids will be well taken care of. One of the hardest areas of self-care, especially in the midst of diapers, bottles and sleepless nights is good hair care.

This is why I was so excited when my friend Corrine announced her natural hair care products. Corrine is the owner of Lark + Owl Naturals. Corrine is a licensed hair stylist so she has worked with hair for a long time. She is a mom to two wonderful kids. And she is really savvy on natural self-care products. For as long as I have known her she has introduced me to great natural self-care remedies. It only made sense that Corrine would create a fabulous natural hair product. These products are exactly what I had been looking for but hadn't found yet. They are natural and work really well. I have curly hair. As anyone with curly hair can attest, it is tricky finding the right gel or mousse that holds curls well but isn't extremely sticky or gummy. I have tried so many different products to try to get the right hold, and I am a huge fan of natural products. The Strength + Shine is a natural hair gel. Every time I have used this product my curls hold so well. After applying this product I can run my hands through my hair and it doesn't even feel like I have hair gel in. And to have this experience without any frizz - even in a humid Minnesota summer is incredible! This is truly a wonder product!

The other product I have grown to love is Dry Shampoo. I had heard about it but had never tried it. The Lark + Owl product description says "This all natural dry shampoo is the perfect product for a hair pick-me-up when you are pressed for time. It absorbs oil, adds volume and refreshes your look." It is so simple to apply. Just dab some on a brush and apply to the roots of your hair. As a mom, this is a perfect product! There are three different shades. Brunette - medium, Blonde and Brunette - dark. I use the brunette medium and it smells so good! In the ingredient list is cocoa and cinnamon. I really enjoy putting this product in my hair because it helps me have one more day without washing and it smells so good.

I also tried the Nourish + Moisturize which is a great leave-in conditioner. Corrine's other products include a Blown Away Sea Salt Spray which helps add texture and volume to limp hair. And two different oil products - Organic Argan Oil and Hair + Scalp Oil. The Argan Oil helps is another leave-in conditioner and helps tame frizzy hair. The Hair + Scalp Oil is an oil you massage into your scalp before shampooing. It helps with dandruff and hair growth. I am really looking forward to trying this product.
